The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 is the successor to Shelly's single-circuit Mini smart relay with power consumption meter, the Shelly 1PM Mini. Like the Shelly 1PM Mini, the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 is also equipped with a power meter and, like its predecessor, can be loaded with a max. lower current (8A), making it primarily suitable for switching and measuring lighting and other lower-power consumers.
Like all other Shelly products, it connects directly to the WiFi router, there is no need for a local center, hub or gateway (bridge) for its smart control. It can be installed independently, with just 1 device, to automate or measure the consumption of an electrical consumer or lighting, but it is also a good choice as a complete system for transforming an entire property, whether newly built or undergoing renovation, into a smart home.
This is one of the smallest WiFi devices for smart control of switches and smart consumption measurement. Its small size allows it to be conveniently installed behind a standard light switch in a wall socket or in an electrical junction box, even afterwards, and to remotely control our lighting or other consumers smaller than 8A, and to track their on/off status.
With the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 placed behind existing switches in a wall socket, we can remotely control our lighting or other consumers while keeping our existing switches, track their on/off status and power consumption, making the product ideal for subsequent "smartening". It is also an excellent choice for controlling single-button light switches when installed behind them, but its maximum power of 8A makes it no longer suitable for controlling sockets!
The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 relay - like other small Shelly smart relays - includes a switch input, meaning that when installed behind light switches, we can still use the wall light switch to switch the lamp (or other consumer), and we can also switch the controlled lamp or other device remotely via WiFi, and we also have several timers at our disposal. In the Shelly app, it is also possible to disable the switch - which can be useful in some rooms with small children -, with such settings, the given relay can only be controlled from the app.
The relay is compatible not only with two-position but also with rocker (or bell) switches. It is also suitable for connecting alternative and cross-changeover switching.
With its auto-off function, it can also be set to pulse switching mode
