The sauna stove stone sold by hajduker.eu is carefully selected high-olivine diabase, which comes from Western Finland.
This deep-seated igneous rock has excellent thermal conductivity and heat capacity, in addition to being able to withstand frequent temperature changes.
Due to its structure, it is extremely durable and is also used as crushed stone for road construction.
It can be used for all sauna stoves and is easy to handle. At vilagitasok.hu, you can find several types of sauna stone in the range, suitable for all uses:
1. standard and large-sized sauna stone. Traditional stones are available in sizes smaller than 10cm for smaller stoves, and in sizes larger than 10cm for high-performance, wood-burning stoves.
2. rounded sauna stone: The advantage of rounded sauna stones is that we can enhance the steam experience in the sauna. You have probably experienced that after one or two fillings, the stones in the upper layers of the stove can cool down so much that the water settles in the small depressions and only evaporates slowly, as the stones heat up again. This cannot happen with round stones. The water flows from the colder stones towards the inside of the stove to the hot stones, so all the water evaporates immediately even after many fillings. This provides a more intense yet softer steam experience. To do this, you only need to use rounded stones in the upper layers of the stove, or you can even fill the entire stove with them.
3. heat-treated sauna stone: Heat-treated sauna stones are hardened at nearly 1000 ºC to withstand the greatest stress. This special treatment increases the lifespan of the stones many times over, so they need to be replaced less often. Thanks to the micropores created by the high heat, it always provides a pleasant humidity. You can use it for both electric and wood-fired sauna stoves. These stones were developed for use in public saunas, but of course they can also be used in private saunas. It can mean savings, as its lifespan can be ten times longer than traditional sauna stones. The olivine diabase we sell has been tested by the Geological Survey of Finland and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. Sauna-Eurox, Helsinki University of Technology, Outokumpu Researche Oy and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences contributed to the research. Olivine diabase does not contain asbestos or other harmful substances. Its safe use and purity are guaranteed by the above-mentioned institutes.
